Improving Cameroon’s Technology
(ICT) project

This project helps four schools in Cameroon in the area of Bamenda by donating computers and training the local teachers how to work with them. One teacher of each school will be travelling to Leeuwarden to be trained by volunteering media students.  Furthermore, a booklet clarifying the content of the ICT training will be developed. It will enable the teachers to install the computers in their respective schools and to deal with problems that might occur during the training.  This way, the teachers can pass on their ICT knowledge to the pupils and the other residents in their community.

The project will not only benefit those attending the school but the whole community due to the creation of new perspectives and the given possibility to expand their knowledge. The ability to work with computers provides new business opportunities and will also improve entrepreneurial skills. Moreover, it is encouraging social development and self reliant programs. The project will help the members of the community to connect to our fast moving economy and has the potential to help alleviate rural poverty.
