Movie Nights

Stenden SIFE team organises the movie nights to raise funds and give some inspirational experience to students and public visitors. The idea is to show the inspirational movies like “Pay it forward”, “Pursuit of Happiness”, “The Blind Side”, “Dead Poet Society”, etc.

Date: The movie nights will take place in module 3 week 7 and week 8
Time: That event is at the moment in its initiation phase (more details later in module 3 week 5).

International Open Day

In the Open Day our goal is to share the experience the prospective students could have when joining Stenden and then Joining Stenden SIFE team. In the Open Day Stenden welcomes prospective students and introduces them the academic and social aspects of studying
and living in Leeuwarden. The emphasis is set on presenting Stenden and it offers from an attractive, interesting and inviting way for the prospective students.

We will hand out the informative flyers, present our projects; we will show what SIFE can do for them and what they can benefit from.

You can develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills. By learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise, while improving the standard of living in the process.

The Chinese language

How good is your Chinese? … Is it a language where you want to grasp the basics off? — Is you answer yes, then join the Confucius course: learning the basics of Chinese language.
We provide you with the tools and classes, so you can grasp the basics. Classes are provided over a period of 9 weeks. You will gain knowledge and understanding of the Chinese culture and language.

The next course starts in week 1 of module 4. SIGN UP before the end this module.

Invest 10 euros in yourself. Next to that, your contribution will help other, less fortunate, people. Though SIFE’s social projects. Such as Cooking Classes.

Stenden Star

‘American Idol’, ‘Holland’s got Talent’ and ‘Voice of Germany’ are popular talent shows. Yet performing on stage, in front of a huge audience, seems out of reach for almost all of us.

Stenden SIFE proudly presents the ‘Stenden STAR’. This event gives students from Stenden University the opportunity to reach their dreams of achieving stardom, showing their singing and/or dancing talents and being named as the very first Stenden Star. Furthermore, students can win fantastic prices, including recording a professional music video. Other prices will be a surprise. Fellow students as well as teachers are most welcome to join the audience.

In total, three rounds will be held. The auditions will start on the 16^th of May, whereas the half final will be held on the 25^th of May. The big finale is planned on the 1^st of June, consisting of a large concert at the end of Module 4 of 2010 / 2011 on the square between NHL and Stenden.
Participants will be judged by professional judges from several institutes, each with experience and expertise in the field of singing and dancing.

Not only will students be able to show their talents, but it will be a legendary event for all participants and the audience. We promise it will be a memorable event, where you can cheer on for your favorite participant or show whole Stenden your talent while you make friends along the way.
